Less than 1% of the worlds population produces the food we eat and fiber we clothe ourselves with - and they haven't seen parity pricing since the 1970's. Parity means that the price a farmer or rancher gets for their product should increase as the cost to produce it increases. So producers haven't seen a raise in more than 50 years.
Covid19 showed us briefly how fragile our food system is from supply chain problems to scarcities on the shelf, so I thought "Hey - We should really be talking more about our food and fiber and where it comes from!" While many people rely on social media to connect to others it is also very isolating and limits healthy dialog. I want to offer listeners insight into the human experiences of growers and consumers that will feed and nourish the minds of both.
